Went to a nearby nature reserve this morning with my girlfriend and our son. Having a three year old has made me appreciate nature again, as I did as a kid. Where we live we have lots of interesting spots to go to see interesting and beautiful flowers, insects, birds etc. I try to teach my son about the things we see and make him appreciate how great it is to spend time outdoors.
We started on a brief vacation today, just a couple of miles out of town. But sometimes, that’s all it takes.
Just cropped and straightened a bit.

Found him near our pond. Obviously been in a fight as his wing was damaged and missing a leg 
So moved him somewhere safe 
Often happens when they emerge I think, they’re vulnerable until their wings harden.
