I’ll be getting a new camera in the next couple of months. I haven’t had a DSLR for a few years and have been revisiting some old photos taken on my last DSLR - a Canon EOS 350D. These pics were taken in 2009.
At the reserve there is a path called “Prinsessan Estelles sagostig”(Princess Estelle’s fairytale path. Named after the duchess of Östergötland, daughter of Crown Princess Victoria). Children are supposed to help an imaginary hare to find its friend, finding clues along the path through the reserve. At the end of the path, the hares friend, Hasse, awaits. This is a spot where parents take their children to leave their pacifiers, giving them to Hasse the hare. My son left his pacifiers there around easter, and today he wanted to hug and thank Hasse for accepting his pacifiers and giving them to younger children in need of the pacifiers(the last part a small white lie from his parents).
On the river, the swallows are never still long enough to photograph properly.
I was walking along the bank in April and there must have been somewhere between 20 and 40 of them swooping down and catching insects above the water. The film shows just a short stretch, they were flying along about a 200M stretch of the river.
(Warning turn down the volume, a lot of wind noise)
This one I think was a male, and he had his eye on me guarding his nest. At the reserve, there is a house where you can learn more about the reserve and buy souvenirs. They had built their nest on top of the door of the main entrance. We were there before they opened for the day, but I guess it was not a particularly restful place to nest. There are usually a lot of visitors, especially this time of year with a lot of groups of primary and middle school students.
In this picture you can see what i believe is the female of the pair.
