Star Trek: Picard

This happened to me when I had “xfinity cloud DVR.” I think you hit the nail on the head: somehow the episode didn’t get tagged. You could set to record ALL episodes and hope to catch a repeat. I don’t think there’s anywhere to buy episodes at this point… I’m guessing you’re not watching through All Access.

Well after all 10 episodes, how do people feel about the show? I feel like the 10th episode was hastily rewritten (or, more likely added on to, because it seemed longer than the previous episodes and didn’t fit within one hour on broadcast TV.) (I can’t really say any more than that without it being a spoiler.)

I felt the whole first season has been a set up for the future seasons. I like what I saw. Yes, a lot of fan service with old characters turning up, but it was in keeping with the story. Very much looking forward to season 2. The advantage with being on a streaming platform is that the episodes do not have to stick to the hour of broadcast TV (including ads).

I have 3 episodes left to watch. I still think the show is just “okay.”

Yep, I think it’s setting up for the future. This series has been reintroducing Picard to people who aren’t necessarily familiar with with ST: TNG, or Voyager really, with 7 of 9 turning up.

I read an article on Ars that implied that Picard is in the new timeline of the reboot. I guess this makes sense in that they don’t have to tie together what happened in the original ST:TNG series ending. There were definitely some parts of the story that could have used some better explanations, like from the 10th episode there was no wrap on what happened to Narik.

Pretty sure Alex Kurtzman said Picard was in the Prime timeline and not the Kelvin timeline before the show started.

It was an interesting ride! It’s been ages since TNG and I’m glad that they diverted from the utopian future and showed the problems of the federation society.
