I have about 500 dell 7440 laptops that I have to remove the bios password. I was thinking of creating a bootable usb that will have the flash file on it to save time ? Or is there a better way or faster method ?

I don’t think that will work. An update will just update the existing BIOS, leaving the password intact. I think you’ll still need to go in to each laptop and clear it manually.

Yes, simply reflashing the BIOS to remove the password would make the password irrelevant for security, as any thief could simply re-flash the PC and gain access.
There used to be a jumper you could remove to bypass BIOS passwords back in the day, so it’s never been very secure I think.
