I read an interesting review of the new TP Link WiFi 7 router. To get the speeds needed for WiFi 7 and up to 10gbps LAN, the router will cost about an extra 60€ a year to run, compared to its predecessor, given the current electricity prices in Germany.

You will really need the benefits that WiFi 7 brings, to justify the increased rubbing costs.

Interesting, plus 10Gbps switching will use more power too.
Hopefully as chipsets evolve they will become more power efficient as WiFi 7 is likely to be 2025 before it’s fully ratified anyway (although that doesn’t stop vendors releasing hardware).
