Recommending advertisers to use TWiT

Yesterday, I got an e-mail from Mountain Trek. This is a fabulous retreat with week-long fitness programs in eastern British Columbia – directly north of Spokane. The owners noted they had slots available in their programs for August; they have a “last minute” sale for those slots.

According to the e-mail, the company relies on Google Ads for promotion. They noted that they had been in Google Ads “jail” since June. I don’t know exactly what that means, but I know that Google’s customer service is pretty abysmal.

I replied suggesting that they consider advertising with TWiT. I sent them a link to your “Advertise on TWiT podcasts” webpage – perhaps strategic advertising for Mountain Trek’s 2025 season.

I have one persistent question about TWiT advertising: what about the Club TWiT members? Do they access “good” advertisements? What percentage of club members listen to the advertising-free versions of the shows? Are there alternative non-intrusive means to promote ads to club members?

I find it pretty easy to quickly skip over ads I’m uninterested in – either through a Siri “skip” request or the “skip 30 seconds” button in the Overcast app. OTOH, I’m often interested in the advertising of shows I subscribe to. One great non-TWiT example is Dave Asprey’s “human upgrade” show; his commercials are quite educational and he does entertaining ad reads.

Good luck after closing of the Eastside Studio facility. I am curious what sort of dress code @Leo will have for his attic shows. Maybe I don’t want to know. :face_with_peeking_eye:
