Moto G7 Power smartphone

I’m looking for a good middle of the road Android smartphone. I had the Moto G5 Plus, and it seemed to do pretty good for most of my daily tasks. The camera was just enough to get me by for videos and pictures.

I’m looking for feedback from current owners of the Moto G7 Power. What do you like about the phone, what do you hate about the phone? How is the camera? Does the battery life live up to manufacturer expectations?

It’s not the Power, but i bought my son the white Moto G7. Should be the same phone just without the expanded battery. Great phone for the money in my opinion. He had the G6 which he loved too, but loves the G7 even more. He has typical use case for his age - lots of games and media content  Works well for all of that. He didn’t need the Power version of the G7 because his phone is powered off most of the day while he is in school, so battery life is never an issue.

Hello, I am about to get mine in some weeks, if you hate large notches STAY AWAY; howeverif what you want is a great battery GO ALL IN, I have heard from many reviewers that Motorola’s G7 power has the most consistent battery life that they have tested

Yeah, notches don’t bother me. I’m still MOST interested to the camera quality. Hopefully it’s higher than the Moto G5 Plus camera.

I hear that the audio is quite low and hard to hear… any thoughts?

I have had the Moto G7 for over a week now… coming from an iphone 6s plus… I is very snappy and I have not had any issues with the audio… although it is a bit tinny in sound. The screen brightness really needs to be cranked… I have really used it hard today (not video) and it still at 46 percent. The camera is fine, but much improved by installing the google gcam app…

Yeah, I listen to alot of podcasts (Leo) and my scanner app. So hopefully its loud enough to hear from my pocket. (I love the audio on my Moto G5s Plus).

I use Open Camera on my current phone, hopefully its better than the stock Moto G7 app

No, it is louder than the HTC One a9s’ sound

Absolutely love my Moto G7 Power! I basically use it as my “Android iPod”. Love the big screen, plenty of storage, and I rarely need to restart it due to performance issues (unlike my Samsung A8 phone). Great battery life as well. Could probably go 2-4 days the way I use it, but I charge it every night out of habit.

Highly recommended! Noticed it on sale on Amazon.ca right now, too.

I do small charges of 15 - 30 minutes and I have not discharged it since I bought it

I used to be a fan of the moto lineup. I have bought my wife several of them but at this point I am done buying them. The irritating ascending ringer that Motorola insits on using is just absolutely infuriating. So many call have been missed due to the fact that by the time the ringer gets loud enough to hear, the caller has hung up. I wish moto would at least have given us the option to opt out of this within the settings.

I could see how that would be irritating.

The moto 8 should be out in the US soon. Maybe they fixed it. I always used my own ringer, it has always been full volume. (S5plus)

I have set up my own ringtones but something moto did in their version of the OS still has ascending ringer, where it starts quiet and gradually gets louder, no matter what ringtone I use.

I absolutely love my Moto G7 Power! Battery lasts for at least a couple of days unless you’re doing a love of streaming or intensive stuff like that. I use mine mainly as an “Android iPod”, but I’m also temporarily using it as a second phone. It’s always fast, lots of storage (I got the 64GB model) for that sort of thing. I also rarely need to reboot it to regain performance.
