I always buy Apple products using the education discount. It’s an easy way to save a little money.
I typically also often wait for Apple to do those promos where you get free AirPods, or whatnot with purchase. Back in college, before the removal of the headphone jack I was rocking Beats that Apple gave me over the years
The problem with the Magic Mouse design is that it punishes you for forgetting to charge. Sure, it may only require 5 - 10 minutes of charge before you can use it again, but it’s one of the few products that you can’t use while charging. If you forget to charge the keyboard, your phone, or anything else, you can just plug it in and keep going.
They just need to fix that one thing and then it’s a fine product. Yes, people should remember to charge their devices and should just get it over with, but people forget. Things happen. Make the mouse usable while charging! That’s not an unreasonable ask.
This post made me semi-jokingly think to myself: maybe they intended for AirPower to solve the Magic Mouse battery issue for good. Wireless but also forever powered.
Or at least give you a warning before the battery is at 1-2%. At least a 5% warning would be enough. That would get me through to lunch, or to the end of the day, so I can could the mouse when I leave the office.
