Irritating but very minor issue with Safari - favicons

I decided to switch from Brave to Safari on my Mac to simplify things, make things more secure, and have better integration with Keychain.

The one thing that irritates me is that some favicons are not showing up. I have reset the browser data, dumped the favicon folder and rebuilt the favicons, and the same ones show up blank in the bookmarks menu EVEN THOUGH I can see the favicon in the tab! Drives me a bit nutty.

Any ideas?

Could it be part of Apple’s anti-tracking measures? There was a paper a month or two back about how tracking companies are abusing the favicon to track people across the net.

Could the sites that don’t have a favicon be those that were caught abusing them?
