I just made a video on youtube where I explained hdmi-cec it shows how each remote works with new tv’s hdmi-cec to automatically switch inputs. Just use the remote that is native to original device ie use blue ray player remote and it turns on the TV and switches it to the correct input so each device remote works that device and no remote switching. Turn off TV and it turns other devices off. All new devices use hdmi-cec and most and many old ones are compatible to see in action see my video here.
