I have been using the Aqara G4 for a few days and so far so good. It’s the first battery powered doorbell that supports Homekit Secure Video. It also supports Alexa, IFTTT, Google Home, and local recording via a MicroSD card. If you have the wiring for a doorbell, you can hook it up that way, and use the batteries as a backup in the event of a power outage. I’ve gone ahead and connected it to Homekit and disabled the doorbell’s ability to connect to the internet via my router. That prevents it from phoning home and allows Apple to handle all of the video storage and streaming.
All in all, it seems to be a solid option for many.
