As a Club member, I get the TWiT+ content in my podcast player. Episode 654 is supposed to be - and is titled as - “Advent of Code 2024 - Week 1 Recap”. So far I’m about 30 mins in, and the content is identical to the previous episode, the AMA with Emily Forlini and Mikah. As the episode duration is identical to 653 down to the second, it looks like the wrong recording got packaged as 654.
Hmm interesting, I decided to check it out last night (incidental to your message) and it’s the correct content for me. It’s listed as 1h 29m. Maybe it got fixed between when you tried and when I did. Can you try some sort of a refresh?
Useful to know, thanks. This may all be down to how my preferred player operates. At the moment, if I refresh the subscription list, episode 654 is still showing a duration of 1:21:49, same as 653. But, I can’t re-download the episode, only play it, because I think the player doesn’t delete the played file until the next day.
So I think I will have to leave it until the played file is deleted, because I don’t fancy searching the Android filesystem to locate and manually delete it. Hopefully once it’s gone I will see the updated duration when I refresh the subscription list.
After the played file auto-deleted I was able to re-download the episode. This time it showed the correct duration, and a quick listen to the opening seconds showed Leo talking, so I think I have the right file now. I’ve set my player to immediately delete played files now, as that means I won’t have to wait before attempting a re-download.
