I automatically thought the Isar, but the 2nd photo has more the look of the Lech about it. Where abouts was that?

:slight_smile: This is from around the Isarflößer statue where the log floaters used to land their timber from the Alps upstream. Looking south towards the Großhesseloher Brücke. Both pictures are taken just a few dozen meters apart - one looking down the canal and one down the renaturalised river.

It is a lovely area. I used to walk regularly down the Lech as it ran out of Landsberg. It has very similar banks there. Now I go walking along the Hase most evenings, which is a lot smaller.

I can imagine. Well, you traded for the more adorably named stream. Isar with high water looks more like Irmgard. :wink: (No offence to any Irmgards out there, there is probably an army of Swedish supermodels with that name.)
