The new infrastructure bill includes content to have cars monitor owners and a remote kill switch?

Putting this in hardware, because a car technically is… but let’s all realize it will be software (well firmware) that will allow this to be possible:

I haven’t read the bill, so I am trusting this site to be telling the truth. If this is true, it seems a little too Orwellian for my tastes.

In Europe, all new cars are supposed to have a SIM card and report back to base in the event of an accident. This has been mandatory since 2018.

That’s pretty outrageous. Hate these massive bills that get all sorts of nonsense attached to them.
