New smartphone zoom lens technology - Canada, Eh!

Pretty neat article here about a new camera lens tech for smartphones, (and many other applications), from a group of university students in Kitchener, Ont, Canada.

By applying different voltages to the liquid crystal, they are able to create optical zoom without the need for bulky lenses.

Might be an interesting article to touch on on TWiT.

Who said Canadians aren’t smart, eh?

Seems interesting but I’d think that the tech press would pickup the story if its so significant.

I agree its early on, but it’s something interesting to touch on. How else do new ideas/startups get any exposure? Haha

And isn’t TWiT technically “Tech Press”?
