MBW 974: Lyle, Who?

Beep boop - this is a robot. A new show has been posted to TWiT…

What are your thoughts about today’s show? We’d love to hear from you!

It was admittedly disappointing to hear the comment made on the show about there being no antisemitism on college campuses when there have been notable, documented case of antisemitism, especially after 10/7.

I know that this isn’t a political forum and I am not trying to turn it into one, but since the comment was made on the show, I felt it fair to bring it up.

I was thinking of making a similar comment but I wasn’t sure if I should. I felt like I “knew what they meant”. I appreciate you coming in with receipts.

Dear MacBreak Weekly Team,

I wanted to let you know that I’ve decided to stop watching the show for now. I truly appreciate all the effort and insight that goes into each episode, and I’ve enjoyed being part of the audience.

However, I’ve found that Andy’s contributions aren’t quite to my personal taste, and as a result, I think it’s best for me to take a break. I wish the entire team continued success and thank you all for the great content you provide.

Best regards

I’m not Leo, and I don’t speak for TWiT. I do, however, find this type of post to be more or less pointless, as it provides nothing of substance for anyone to do anything with. To me, it’s akin to:

Dear mashed potatoes,
I’ve decided you just don’t appeal to me anymore. It’s not you, it’s me. You’re consistent, warm, and frankly beloved by millions—but for whatever reason, I just can’t anymore.
Anyway, I thought it was important you knew.

So, I guess, thanks for saying “so long”! While taste is personal and totally valid, I’m sure Leo would love to know if there’s anything more specific to pass along as feedback. Otherwise, best of luck with whatever’s next on your plate.

I wanted to share some feedback: I find the performance during the Vision Pro theme a bit out of place. That it seems he like Android and Google more than Apple is totally ok. As this show is called Macbreak and not All about Google the recurring message that Android and Google do so much better may not come across as entirely balanced.

I think it is his being “on the outside, looking in,” that brings a certain balance to the show, with Alex going in the other direction, where Apple can do almost no wrong.

Jason, Mikah and Rene back then were also criticizing Apple, but it felt not so annoying to me. But to be fair, this 1 star review is also annoying

To be fair, he has been quite critical of Apple lately.
