iPad OS replies broken

I will say that I still prefer V Bulletin software for forums, personally.

I have used it before as an admin. You can tweak a lot.

Discourse works well on mobile though. I’ve not always found traditional forum software easy to use on a phone.

Well, some forums use Tapatalk. I have tried it before, but I prefer the normal forum interface on normal forum software.

I remember trying Tapatalk a while ago, and I also found it less usable than the basic forum software, even in a mobile browser. I just couldn’t take to it. But I’m happy with Discourse.

I love Discourse so far, but this bug I find significantly hampers my ability to intelligibly participate in discussion because I feel like the posts lacking reply attribution rob my messages of important context for others to understand what I’m trying to communicate with my posts.

The only other annoyance with Discourse so far for me is that I must often dismiss the same threads in New and also in my profile notifications. Small price to pay for such a well-done and attractive forum, IMO.

I have noticed 1 thing, just this morning.

When I reply and quote text on my android phone - the quote does not stay. I have to go back, edit the post, and put the quote back in. Then, it stays.

When I reply and quote text on my Chromebox with the Chrome browser - the quote does not stay. I have to go back, edit the post, and put the quote back in. Then, it stays.

When I reply on a different PC with Firefox - the quote is working right away the very first time…

Interesting…

Right now on Firefox, though - I cannot click oon my profile icon at the top right and see my profile. Nothing loads when I click the link. The webpage won’t change. I have to click on my icon IN a post I made, and get to my profile that way. So, it seems that the browser you are on can effect things.

Although, this did not happen on Firefox yesterday. So, it must be a website bug going on today.
