Use Family Tree Maker and Genealogy web sites. Been locked out of an email and just got fraudulent text on my phone. This is from late last week.
Did you reuse a password? I can’t see how one thing could lead to the other unless you did or else you actively assisted them in your compromise (you authorized an attacker’s login, say.)
Have multiple accounts. The account I knew had been compromised because I received multiple errors when I was setting up a new computer. Then today received a text from a fraudulent source. One of the web sites tonight emailed another email account was in the hack. I do not know detail on the hack but the software was hacked and I use that in several web sites.
