I haven’t caught the show yet but I’ve been using a Fiio BTR3 for about 6 months, along with a £15 set of monitors. Had been using a microBTR for a year or so before, with some similar priced wired earphone.
I have been using Bluetooth adaptors like this for years, going way back to some Sony MW600s. This has given me all the convenience of Bluetooth audio while leaving me free to choose earphones that meet my budget, performance, and most importantly, comfort.
I don’t understand why these really are not more popular.
