When discussing desktop experiences on phones, no-one mentioned (unless I was distracted) that 11 years ago the Motorola Atrix offered a desktop experience when paired with the Lapdock accessory, via a cutdown Ubuntu instance running on the phone. Shame it was a dead-end as for the time the experience was quite good if limited. Being able to get 7-8 hours desktop usage from the Lapdock, then detach the phone with 100% battery remaining for further usage, was pretty useful. I remember being able to do a full day conference on the Lapdock and still have the phone available for after work usage.
