Just a heads up on the Microsoft conviction as a monopolist - that conviction by Judge Thomas Penfield Jackson was overturned on appeal by the Circuit Court. And while the case was remanded back to the DC District court for further proceedings, that was ultimately rendered moot by the consent decree.

Everyone seems to remember that initial conviction, but no one seems to recall that it was overturned on appeal. Not completely - the findings of fact were still upheld. But the ruling itself. And, according to Wikipedia “traditional antitrust analysis was not equipped to consider software-related practices like browser tie-ins.”
