For a techie like me, that taught myself HTML in high school, WordPress was a godsend. Us techies however forget that not everyone knows even the basics of what we know. My mom has actually stopped coming to me for tech help because she did not understand what I was saying and it drove her nuts. Thank goodness my wife understands a bit of tech and can translate what I am saying to my mother.
Rule of thumb for techies, learn how to translate tech into laymans and be honest about how difficult something can be. If it is easy for you, doesn’t mean it will be for someone else.
