Alex Cantorwitz I think has hit the nail on the head for this point: Exactly how much can we expect AI investments to turn a profit? Like everyone says, AI is AI until it works. Then it’s called software. I think the question is, if everyone is raising the quality of software, how much can you expect to get out of customers?
I really doubt we see Web search go away. This envisioned future of everything being implicit and anticipating your needs ahead of time feels very unrealistic as your main mode of gathering information. It feels a bit like a teenage “dream partner”. I think those in long-term romantic relationships might say, explicit is better than implicit!
