We travel quite a bit.
Not had a good experience going direct to airlines as Johnny Jet recommends. They code share and use partner airlines. So on our last trip, we lost 2 days due to flight cancellations and incurred costs. Virgin Atlantic (who we booked with) blamed Delta. Delta says nothing to do with them, we booked with Virgin. Plus all their call centres are overloaded with > 2 hours wait.
Using online travel agents such as Expedia had the same experience. A whole trip was cancelled at the start of COVID, and neither Expedia nor the airline would deal with us.
So I’m going to go back to using a local travel agent I can physically visit or speak to on the phone.
Airlines are a mess at the moment. Parents were going to France next week, now cancelled because not enough airline staff to get them there.
