The Photo Thread: Week of 2024-05-19

It’s that time of year again: plenty of lovely walks through the early Summer countryside (Fischbachau > Bayrischzell, Bavaria, Germany). Have a great week!

Nice to see a 1914 car being used properly. Been trialling I think, stopped off for a pint

Bayrischzell is a wonderful area.

Hey for a change I have some shots. I’ve been playing with the Lecia M11 and my grail lens the 50mm f0.95 Leica Noctilux. I use it wide-open (which with manual focusing requires a steady hand for sure) and an ND filter of up to 6 stops. In many ways it has restored my love for photography. These are from the annual American Graffiti Days car show in Petaluma, always a rich source of photo fun.

Amazing. I’m surprised, there seems to be more DOF in some of those shots of the cars than I’d expect at f0.9. The black hotrod for example. What a lens though :+1:t2:

Excellent pictures - thanks for sharing! I just found your response while listening to Ask the Tech Guys from last Sunday while you were recommending a camera to a caller…

I was quite surprised at Chris’ response later. A fixed lens camera on a safari? He said to use your feet for close-ups. Rather him than me :lion::slightly_smiling_face:

Does anyone know the last time that tiger had a full meal??
