Proxmox Version 8 Error

**hey

I’m trying to upload iso to my proxmox but I’m getting Error 401 permission denied - invalid PVE ticket

And

How do I try the download option to get the ISO from a website or a link

Thanks

It seems like the error is caused by the PVE service not running or not responding correctly. You need to log into the console as root and restart it, after that it should work again:

systemctl restart pvedaemon pveproxy

I log in as root

I will try to reboot the proxmox computer when I get home from work today around 6pm

I just reinstalled the proxmox on the computer yesterday three times

I’m a node about Linux os system

I know my way around computer hardware and system and software some what

I’m most comfortable with windows computers

What are the steps to reset the PVC to get it working again

I’m mean what are the steps to reset the PVE server?I don’t know what that is?

If anyone one can help me out with my proxmox error PVE please let me know what the problem is and what are the solutions to fix it

You need to log onto the console (terminal shell - command line access) as root and enter the command:

systemctl restart pvedaemon pveproxy

This should restart the service on the server and the GUI should work again.

Do I need to do the shell every time I want to test out a different os or install windows or Linux os

No. Generally you should be able to do most things over the GUI. But it runs in Linux, so the command line is also there and may be needed for some fine tuning of the environment, just as it is with VMware, HyperV, KVM or most other hypervisors. They are designed to be as slim and light as possible, to leave as much power over for the virtual machines.

Ok
I will try that when I get home from work tonight
Thanks

I’m getting a new error message when I try to type the PVE script in the shell terminal

Do I need to type sudo before the PVE reset

I’m trying to use FTP to upload iso to proxmox

It just hangs when you try and restart it? No timeout?

You are logged on as root (the # in the command prompt), so you don’t need su.

It looks like the base installation of Proxmox is damaged.

Did restarting the server sort the problems? Otherwise, I’d look at re-installing Proxmox. Your best bet is probably to go to the Proxmox forums. This is as far as my knowledge goes and I’d just be searching Proxmox for answers and copying them here…
