Is the PlayStation VR a viable option? Considering as a Christmas gift for 16 yr old grandson.

If they have no other experience with VR, and if they have the PS4 already, this would be a perfectly fine introduction IMHO. (One benefit of Sony’s entree into VR is that they mostly intended you to be seated, which is safer for kids.)

It’s a nice midrange VR set. Like @PHolder said, great choice if you’ve already got a PS4. I can recommend the games Beat Saber and Superhot. I’ve played them on PC and I imagine they’re similar on the PS4 system.
