Were you using an earlier version of macOS than Catalina in your first episodes of Hands on Mac regarding using MAS?
I say this because MAS outdated and MAS upgrade options don’t work properly on Catalina, never have done.
However, it should be okay when using Brewfile in your latest episode because you can still use MAS install.
I presume MAS works under Big Sur?
