I used FaceTime on the M1 Mac Mini for the first time today and encountered something weird with audio output.
My set up is HDMI to monitor 1; USB-C to HDMI to monitor 2. My speakers are connected to audio output on monitor 2 and everything works fine when playing audio etc. However, when I used FaceTime, the audio from FaceTime will not play through the monitor. The audio will work if I select the Mac’s internal speakers or use the headphone jack. Audio through the monitor continues to work for other applications.
Seems like a weird issue with FaceTime.
