Help with a movie title

Hey all.

I know there are a number of SciFi enthusiasts here, so I’m hoping someone here may be able to help me.

A friend of mine was mentioning old scifi movies, and he told me about a movie where there were aliens that looked like light posts. That’s what he said. I’m trying to find the movie. If any of you know what it is, do let me know. Neither of us have any idea, and Google is less than helpful.

Thanks for the tip. I’ve passed it along to him and he’s going to check it out when he gets home. Hopefully that was it and there’s not another lightpost-alien invasion movie.
