I recently got a link to screen the documentary “General Magic” about the so-named company spun off from Apple in 1990 to develop a It’s pretty well done and full of interviews with founders Marc Porat, Bill Atkinson, Andy Hertzfeld, Joanna Hoffman, and many others – including Tony Fadell and Andy Rubin! I highly recommend it!
Though I knew of General Magic, I didn’t understand how closely their vision and plans presaged the iPhone and lead to both iOS and Android.
I saw one post here about the documentary from Oct 2019, but no responses, and I haven’t heard anything about it on TWiT. Seems like the kind of thing that might just interest some people here… @Leo ?
