people need to stop thinking “what risk do other people pose to me?” and thinking"What risk to other people do I pose?"
People are lazy and want 1 solution they can invest in, but all of it is required, social distancing, cleaning and masks.
Arguments over which is the best are pointless, when “all of it” is best.
It looks like US is up to its usual dirty tricks in the background.
I am not going to post a specific link, but go search for “US diverts masks from Germany”.
Seems on the 1 hand incoming medical resources are gratefully received, but USA isn’t going to be helping others in return.
3M have been warned that if they allow any of the masks to go to other countries, the Gov will make things go bad for them.
Thats nice. The 3M factory is in China using Chinese labour, products and resources, but they won’t be allowed to keep any there.
That search criteria also yields stories about same happening to Canada and France.
I would argue, if everyone wore a mask, that would have a positive affect from contagious asymptomatic individuals.

Talking about shields… the nearest large supermarket to here (a Woolworths) as out large Perspex shields at each checkout to shield the checkout worker. Unfortunately, they could not hear what I was saying so ended up talking around the shield.

I presume that is what I would call plexiglass. Last month two of the major grocery retailers here said they would be installing them as well. I haven’t been out to a store since early March, so I can’t comment on their actual existence.

LOL…I’m not a seamster(?) so I doubt if I’ll use the right terminology. It is two layers thick. On the back side, there is a slot/pocket to add additional filtering. I was able to put an N95 inside it but then it was impossible to breath.
