RKI (Robert Koch Institut) has released an app that will collect data from your sports tracker and send it back to them for analysis. They are hoping it will provide information about how COVID-19 affects the body (pulse, oxygen levels etc. depending on tracker), so that they can provide early warning information in the long run.

[LoTec] Austria has dogs that can sniff hidden Toilet paper
We learned this week, that some of the drug sniffing dogs, are also good in finding hidden Toilet paper (Nope that’s not a late April Joke). What’s astonishing is, that we learned in the same article, there is no longer a shortage of Toilet Paper (if there ever was one).
The dogs didn’t wake up one morning and decided to find some hidden Toilet paper.
You need to train them but for what reason? We will never know…
TWITTER unwantedly help spreading Misleading Information
The following 2 pics are from Bloomberg The first shows a graph in the normal Twiiter Feed and gives you the impression the US and Mainland China are on par with the numbers.
However, IF you go the article page and then click on the graph you see a page with a more detailed graph showing how DIFFERENT the numbers are.
Now some might argue, that intelligent people always double check etc. etc.
I’m just not sure how many Twitter reader fall und this category…
It’s an older graph certainly, if you look at the days since 100 confirmed cases scale. It goes to show we need to look at the date of the source before we retweet/repost information as current.
I’ve been wanting a clear acrylic bubble that I could walk around in. Not fashionable, but functional?
Good catch on the time scale. Looks to me like someone saved an earlier version of chart for title page, then caught up with realtime data for the article.
Wet-dropplets when you talk.
Very cool
Sure seems like there is more to the story. Can’t imagine any hospital administrator blessing the idea of hacking medical equipment with a 3rd party firmware patch. Makes me think the firmware might be designed for use in both AirSense 10 and AirCurve 10 however most likely other important factors such as additional sensors and mechanical components maybe not considered by security researcher Trammell Hudson.
Found this article very good. DP-3T seems to be the solution to privacy concerns, and Apple/Google are implementing something akin to that at the OS level. i.e. use Bluetooth LE and an ever-changing identifier so you can never piece all the data together and get an overall view of where people are.
Interesting about the Bluetooth issues and having an app running continuously in the background.
The scale is also designed to make the USA not look so bad.
This, as a video sequence has been on the news almost daily for over a month now. It is like the video of a woman with a mask talking on her phone wandering along a shopping street in Germany, it always makes me wonder if she gets royalties for the stock footage…
Of course, a lot of that is actually water vapour.
