after you use it to install your video driver do this to help keep it cooler …Ramp up the fans
think it fixed the diver the screen is working again.
Good! I would still ramp those fans up. Glad to hear you got it fixed
The odd thing is I just turned the computer back on and the checker is running again
It takes a bit to finish setting it self up
How much RAM does Windows usually use in idle?
Just got more interesting. Ran a memory test on the device everything was fine but after the test the computer booted with the screen very dim and very hot restated again still very dim screen and checked Task Manager it was normal after a few seconds CPU jumped to 100% for a few seconds and went down progressively eventually back to normal and the RAM bumped to about 70% around the same time.
Fixed the screen brightness issue. Seems like the AMD software triggered some setting to activate and that caused the problem. The RAM optimization issue seems to persist. The CPU mostly clears up but the RAM still seems kind of high. The fan just turned off for the first time in a while.
now the webcam isn’t working
I suggest you run some monitoring tools so you can tell if temperature is your problem Core Temp is a compact, no fuss, small footprint, yet powerful program to monitor processor temperature and other vital information.
Core Temp
You can use CoreTemp to see the “tjMax” value of the CPU and see what temp it is rated for.
You can also set it to notify you and/or go to sleep if the temp hits 5 deg below the tjMax value, or set your own value.
You should also make sure your drive is not overheating or it will likely corrupt files. About CrystalDiskInfo A HDD/SSD utility software which supports a part of USB, Intel/AMD RAID and NVMe. If you have never run a SMART test of the drive it is possible it has not been detecting failing blocks until too late. This will lead to file corruptions.
Any time you cannot boot and need to check it is not a hardware issue, you can boot from an image of Ultimate Boot CD burned to a USB stick.
It has all the OEM original HD and SMART testing tools for use at low level access, eg.DOS and some of the windows tools.
It also has many 3rd party testing and fixing tools for use with many parts of a PC system, and will boot to a mini distro of Linux when used for partitioning tasks. You can also use the Gsmart tool in this environment to inspect drive health or initiate a SMART scan

Computer restarted and brightness issue came back, flipping the switch in AMDs software fixed it again.
Here’s the photo you asked for:
What laptop model is this? Strange it cannot identify your actual CPU. 50C isn’t too hot, but the maximum of 87C is a bit on the high side, but should still be in the range of the operating range of the CPU itself. If all else fails, you could reset windows from safe mode?
I would lose brave right away. …its a resource hog
Would like to see whats in the start up tab in task manager
