Good episode of ‘All About Pixel’ 
I was listening whilst doing other stuff, but was the Sep Pixel update mentioned? It would seem to be relevant to Pixel battery issues, as there is a fix for battery drain, plus a 6a fingerprint recognition fix.
It’s been delayed for the 6a though. The battery drain is reported to be a launcher background process, so not 5G (although I know Pixel 5G radios aren’t great).
Also, my old 3a got another update this month 
But it’s still stuck at the May security update, so wondering what they rolled out
