The Photo Thread: Week of 2020-05-17

Starting the new thread with some pics out of the garden, which is really starting to bloom at the moment.

The patio has really turned green and the leaves are doing their job of blocking the view onto the patio from the road.

Hosta or funkia, this one is commonly called “war paint”.

Edit: All photos made with the Galaxy S20+

Kniphofia or “red-hot-poker”, in German Fakellillie or “torch lilly”.

One of our rockeries. My wife has made the garden wild or “rustical”, with lots of wild flowers and plants. There is a lavender bed, for example. We also have an area for fruit and veg and we harvested the rhubarb today, hopefully enough for a batch of rhubarb chutney.

I moved recently and I haven’t tired of the view from my apartment’s balcony yet. Apart from the rainbow photos I posted last week, I’m enjoying great sunrises and unfettered view of the sky.

With burnoffs happening around my area, sunsets have taken on a even more striking colour in recent days.

I took this photo with my Ricoh GR, Pentax K3 and Pixel 4. Pixel got closest to getting the colour correct right out of camera.

After I figured that out, I put my polarised sunglasses in front to emphasize the effect.
