My old faithful RadioShack 40W soldering iron finally gave up and now I have the excuse to buy a soldering station. Shopping on Amazon obviously yields many choices. The 40-watt level has provided enough heat for any hobby or repair projects. I do like the pointed style tip rather than a chisel. Hakko or Weller or some other? Need recommendations please.
Not a personal recommendation, but I have none to offer, I’ve never soldered anything in my adult life.
I recognized both from doing YouTube research. Wirecutter’s recommendation X-Tronic Model 3020-XTS LED Display Soldering Iron Station solidified my purchase decision. Thank you @PHolder
