From the description, that was my first thought as well, that has to be a pen-test excercise.
The desc in the YT version of this episode includes this sentence: “On Security Now, Steve Gibson and Leo Laporte test the chinks in China’s great Firewall.”
Gonna assume it was unintentional, but “chink” is also a slur against people of Chinese descent.
