Funny how Apple thinks that we as an owner should not have access to our machines for any kind of repair. Apple support whether in the store or otherwise is far from perfect and expensive at that, and then the waiting when you do. Having the skill to do my own repairs, I almost always do it myself when I have the time and tools. I took my iphone 5 apart to replace the battery with success. Eventually upgraded anyway, but we should be entitled to do our own repairs and or get it repaired wherever we want.

The lack of repairability for many devices has gotten out of hand.
Year s ago, I remember bringing some electronics to Sears - who would repair their brand of stuff… Those days are long, long gone…
I’m not saying that I can repair a lot of stuff. But, it was nice to have some options besides ONLY dealing with the manufacturer
TV’s for example were a common repair item with a tv repair shop nearby to get it done. Now you can buy a new TV for what it would cost to fix or repair even a relatively new TV.
