Making the AI more personable by giving it a fun playful attitude makes people trust it more, so when it invariably spits out some falsehood people will not question it as much.
Some of the dumbest people I know recite the worst nonsense in a confidant tone. Why should machines be any better?
The real solution is to trust neither, regarless of tone. Or better yet, trust but verify.
