Interestingly, the Microsoft Authenticator just says that an error occurred, when I try and switch on cloud backup on my android phone.
Luckily, I already have it set up on my ipad.

John Gruber adressed this when the 13 came out, and Rene Ritchie and I concur: use the fast restore over the iCloud backup:
As for unused apps, you can turn on the offload unused app feature, or do what I do, comb through the old phone first to remove the chaff, then install. It gives you something to do while waiting for the new phone!

Quick update, I ran this play last night on my new phone!!! SOOO much better. only a few apps needed me to re-authenticate. Easy as pie!
