I only have Bluetooth in my car, but I still leave my phone in my jacket pocket or bag, when I am in the car - in the summer, I do have a Magsafe charger, which I sometimes use, when I don’t have a jacket or bag, but it is out of reach on the far side of the dashboard.
My motto is, if it isn’t a phone call (and therefore hands-free), it isn’t important enough to risk lives over and it can wait until I reach my destination or take a break.
