I didn’t think they could get more “old man yells at cloud” than when they all agreed that Instagram had never served them an ad for anything they were interested in, but I think they found it this week, with Paul’s “What was that show that was ‘a take on the Office but with Amy Poehler’?” to describe “Parks and Rec”.

You know, that little, forgettable show, that never achieved anything and nobody remembers, right? Oh, wait, or maybe it was immensely popular even now, and stopped being anything remotely related to The Office after it’s first 6 episodes.

I swear I’d pay triple for a version of this podcast without their insane personal rants, and without a whiskey segment.

Your experience is not the same as everyone’s experience. I think you should reconsider why you listen, it’s supposed to be a mix of news and entertainment. The show has different segments, such as gaming and the picks, and I think it is designed for there to be something for everyone. I like my shows to actually have some personality, and not be boring recitations of the news. I’ve literally never heard of this series/show you think was so impactful before you just brought it up. (Granted I missed listening to the live show and haven’t heard it yet, so I have yet to hear what they have to say about it.) If you don’t like the whiskey segment, why not just stop before it starts as it is the last part of the show.

+1 for never having seen the show. I think I have heard the name mentioned, but I don’t recall having seen it even advertised over here.

Also, I often remember shows, I can remember the story and the actors, but the name of the show escapes me in that moment.

Edit: I did catch a couple of clips of The Office, Ricky Gervais is brilliant in that, as always, but it is another series that never really made it from the UK to Germany.

I appreciated the inside baseball parts about how podcasting is starting to change (and plugging Club TWiT). I wonder if I should feel slightly guilty that YouTube is my go-to favourite place to consume podcasts.

I had a hall effect mechanical keyboard once and I didn’t think it was worth the extra expense over a “regular” mechanical keyboard.

Thumbsticks get a much harder workout, though.
