Blizzard (now part of Microsoft) actually patched WoW this month which made it go back to usuing 3-5GBs of RAM instead of the 8-12 that it was using for many months due to a bug. That’s a sign of doing more with less. Hopefully game developers will start to be a bit more conservative with RAM usage & track down more memory leaks in their games. I’m also in a weird spot because WoW was a big reason I decided to go all-in and upgrade my PC when I did. I was having RAM struggle while playing WoW. I don’t necessarily regret getting 32GBs of RAM; I did always want it anyway. But now I can’t really say I “need it” anymore. It’s just nice to have.
Admittedly I make enough money (and don’t support a family) where I don’t really “miss” the money I spent on my PC, and it’ll definitely go a long way. But I think to myself “I guess I didn’t really need to that upgrade after all”. Although the next question was: could my last PC have lasted 2 more years? Maybe if I’m only playing League of Legends and WoW. I already played 2 PS5-level games on my PC which I wouldn’t have done on my old PC. Sadly it doesn’t seem like parts supply will be getting any better before 2027. I think I made the right choice
The screaming children in the background at around the 50 minute mark was really funny. It’s like the backdrop for the conversation. Low-budget Halloween screaming sounds.
I love Xbox Design Lab. I don’t know if I’d ever buy a stock controller ever again if I’m just using it on PC.
