New Windows Weekly is out now: Windows Weekly #974 (WW) — “DIY Crocs.”
This one covers:
Patch Tuesday’s familiar list of updates: Network speed test, Camera tilt and pan controls, sysmon, RSAT improvements, Quick Machine Recovery improvements, WEBP support for desktop wallpaper, Emoji 16.0, etc.
It’s been a light year so far for Patch Tuesday features - that’s a good thing.
New builds for Canary, Dev, and Beta late last week. Canary is nothing, Dev/Beta get Administrator Protection, Drag Tray refinements, File Explorer improvements, and fixes.
I think you’ll really enjoy this one.

Random opinion: there’s no point in criticising humans for anthropomorphising AI, because we’re preprogrammed to attempt to bond with anything that seems like a conscious entity, because it maximises our chances of survival.
I guess we need to learn from sci-fi stories like The Matrix and Terminator before it’s too late? "They"'re programmed, and maybe can’t escape their programming, but we’re supposedly able to be alter our destiny by learning the first time that touching hot surfaces is bad for us. We just need to realize that unfettered AI is a hot surface we should never build in the first place.
This is exactly why I like absurd mode (AKA unhinged mode) in Grok. It has a certain superficial artificiality to it. That tends to remind you that the human-like presentation of all AIs is contrived. Also, I learn better with Grok’s artificially-hyped language. “use absurd mode please” is a great tool.
