We have 1 internal tool at my work that only works in IE. Ever since moving to a Mac, I have to use Citrix if I want to use Edge’s IE mode at work.
The git protocol didn’t exist 48 years ago, so they must’ve had to do some funky stuff with their commits if they even made a git repo at all. Could just be microsoft doing something custom. Who knows
