WW 925: It's the Shirt

Beep boop - this is a robot. A new show has been posted to TWiT…

What are your thoughts about today’s show? We’d love to hear from you!

I absolutely do not understand the world these 3 guys live in. First there was the “I’ve never seen an ad on Instagram for something I’m interested in” (quick survey of my household, friends, and relatives was unanimous - nobody is better at targeted ads for products you want than Instagram).

Last week Paul was complaining about how hard it was to deal with junk texts on iOS. It’s literally "swipe left, choose “Delete and report junk” from the main text messaging screen- or just click on the “report junk” at the bottom of the screen when reading the message itself)

Now this week Richard asked if people use the Snipping Tool. I’m in IT support, and I see screenshots from the snipping tool on almost a daily basis, and have across multiple jobs for years now.

I agree, although Paul’s argument about the SMS is that Google blocks them on the Pixel devices, before they are delivered, so you aren’t annoyed by the phone constantly pinging.

That said, I’ve never suffered from that, because that is illegal over here and you face very heavy fines (millions of Euros), if you are caught spamming over SMS or telephone calls.

Probably depends on experience. I’ve never used it… and when they try to force it upon me by mapping PRT-SCRN to bring it up, it’s just getting in my way when I know what I am doing already, so I uninstalled it.

I’ve always used tools like Greenshot for taking screen captures, but on my company’s corporate computers those third party tools are all prohibited. We are forced to use the Snipping Tool as the only approved screen capture utility. It functions fine, but is just missing a bunch of handy features that things like Greenshot provide.
