We had an AI workshop a few weeks back and one of the things we did was set up ChatGPT to search the Internet every day for new information about our industry and especially things that would affect our company and send it as an email at 3pm every day. It worked fairly well, the usual errors excepted - sometimes it was correct, sometimes it made up stories, but with the correct phrasing it should be able to produce a rundown for a podcast.
As to people talking to their assistant, I don’t know anyone that does that, apart from my youngest daughter and her boyfriend to play music with Alexa in the flat and to change the light in the living room.
I can think of a single time in the last 7 years, where I have heard someone in public speaking to their phone’s assistant. I do use it to set timers when cooking or turn on the light in the bedroom, but only when I am alone, my wife berates me every time I talk to my assistant, when she is in the house.
I have had to do it sometimes while riding the bike, because the bike’s app doesn’t work reliably all the time and Siri sometime asks whether I am doing a bike training after 5 minutes riding, so a simple “ja” to let the bike and watch continue tracking the ride.
