This OneDrive malarkey was a factor in my decision to finally boot Windows out of my personal life. I completely share Leo’s outrage on that. I think it’s a fine product, but the dark patterns Microsoft employs with it are just egregious.
I use the sandbox feature almost daily in my professional life. Excited about the enhancements there. The optimist in me hopes for a completely sandboxed Windows in the future; Microsoft is already really good at this since it’s how the Xbox is architected. The pessimist in me knows compatibility reasons will prevent it from ever actually happening.
Side note - watching Leo navigate Windows is like watching a monkey drive a car
I thought the show title should have been “It Absolutely Seems Less”
“it’s a matrix of crap” - Paul.
I really enjoyed watching Leo setup his new snapdragon. Or maybe I really liked watching Paul guide Leo like I’m guiding my mom through her iPad hahaha
I’m basically finished the show, I really loved this episode! The Paul—Leo dynamic was strong on this episode. I loved it. They have a playful brotherly ribbing that I like. “Can I ask you a question and you promise not to bully me?” “I can’t promise that, Leo”.

People who watched Windows Weekly might be in a rare group of people to see someone setup that machine
That’s wild! I wonder how many of them made it out of the factory doors. I bet they’ll fetch a premium on eBay.
200 have been delivered, according to The Register.
I’m kinda amazed that I have one. It seems to work fine but I don’t have very high expectations. It’s no M4 Mac mini, that’s for sure.
Fan runs a lot. It often feels sluggish (maybe that’s a WoA problem?) And I can’t believe it came with Windows Home.
I doubt the Linux support will progress now.
But at least I’ll get my money back!

It was… interesting as an audio podcast.
I wouldn’t think it’s a WoA problem, if only because of the really good reviews Paul has given some of the laptops. My bet is that the company that made this did a really poor job. That would explain why they are automatically cancelling pre-orders and refunding.
Don’t forget, that a new PC with OneDrive will spend a lot of time and energy indexing all of your data for the first few hours/days. It should settle down, once the indexing is done. It is also one of the reasons you can’t benchmark a freshly installed PC, if it has any data on it.
It is a standard Windows issue that I have seen on hundreds of PCs over the years, Windows is busy trying to index all the user data in the background, in Windows 7 days it used to do do it when you went away from the PC, but with multi-core PCs these days, it tends to do it all the time, the PC feels a little sluggish and it runs hot for a while, then after a day or 2 it settles in.
Ah! I think I may remember Paul saying something about that now when he reviewed the Copilot+ laptops. Thanks for the reminder!
