HI I have a 17 inch Dell laptop. my dell laptop is Dell inspiron 7706 2n1 and I am looking some recommendtions for a laptop coling pad for my dell laptop. What cooling pad would most people recommend to use. I want a laptop cooling pad that will keep the vents and keep the heat out to prevent the heat from shutting down my laptop.

I was wanting to now can tilt laptop cooling pads I have couch chair that elevates and so I use my laptop most of the time in the couch chair this is why I am asking if their are any recommed laptop pads that tilt up and down.
I would like some recommendations of good laptop cooling pads right thanks that are easy to use and help keep laptops cool.
One thing I dislike about my new Framework laptop is the cooling vent placement, which is similar to your Dell. My Surface devices have had cooling vents in the spine of the device which means placing it on a soft surface isn’t a problem.
In my experience, simply placing a hard, flat object underneath the laptop is sufficient to make sure the device doesn’t burn itself out. Ironically, I’ve been using my old Surface device as a surface

A long time ago I can remember using laptop coolers with active fans, but these days my experience is the same as @knewman. Any laptop that tends to run hot is usually fine if I lift the back edge enough to allow more air circulation underneath so the fans can do their work better. I keep a couple of little wood blocks handy that are about 2cm (3/4") thick and usually put them under the back feet of the laptop.
This is fine on any hard surface, but I guess that if you want to use a laptop on a bed or other soft surface you’d have to use a cooler. When I was using one, it was a Cooler Master, and I can see they still seem to be available in various sizes and configurations on Amazon. I’d be wary of suspiciously similar sounding brands like Coolmaster: I don’t know anything about them but it strikes me as a bit dubious that they are using a brand name so close to the established one.
